St. Katherina Docks

We (Adam and I) woke up fairly late, then we headed down to have breakfast at the neighboring restaurant. Unfortunately, we got there at 10, and breakfast time was over at 9:30. We ate anyway. They gave us a lot of the English breakfast, and I mean a lot!

That's where we met up with Warren, with whom we went to the train station and said goodbye to each other. I won't see Warren or Adam again for a while, which is quite sad - we had such a good time together!

After a roughly 2 hour train ride (I was mostly on my laptop writing these words), I arrived to London Euston. The train was pretty nice with comfy chairs, even an airplane like fold-down table was featured in front of every seat that didn't have a table already. It was an InterCity-style Virgin Train, and while it was late (as Warren forecasted), it was only 15 minutes late. There was even a cleaning crew on the train!

Since the weather was nice, I decided not to waste it. Went with the luggage to Victoria station, put the luggage in a locker, then headed to the Tower. Yet again, I got there too late, even though I thought I was early. There was a lot to see there, and I think I saw the most important things, but definitely left out a few.

Then I walked around the tower to the St. Katherina Docks, which was really nice. A few lazy Americans went into the first nice restaurant (actually, an inn) they saw there, but I was smarter than that after I saw their prices. So, I walked around and found this pub/restaurant. The pub was starting to get full (it was, after all, Friday night), but the restaurant was empty - only I ate there. I had some soup and then fishcakes with chips and mixed salad. It was okay, but yet again, I couldn't eat it all. However, the waitress was a very cute young girl! I think, the tight pants make every woman look nice here...

After dinner I went straight to Victoria, I picked up my luggage, and hopped on the train. Got to Bromley pretty fast, then called Chris whether he would want to have any kind of chat with me. He was very nice, because he even offered to pick me up at the station! He did, then we tried to find the guesthouse where Hubbard stayed, but we couldn't. So, we went back to his house briefly, and finally located it afterwards. We had a nice post-BIT Live chat, too, exchanged stories, thoughts and experiences about the event. Chris told me that a lot of people put up pictures and stories, too, especially Darren Izzard's account was pretty accurate.

Chris paid for Hubbard's room at the guesthouse, then we headed back to his house, because we didn't want to disturb the Master. (I think, after all these years Chris still has a tremendous god-like respect for him... Either that or beacuse he thought he pissed him off by giving incorrect directions to the guesthouse.) At Chris' house I talked a lot with her wife, Tanya. Had a nice chat with her as Chris was mostly on the phone. Before that, though, Chris managed to show me the radio report of the event, which was actually pretty good! Benn and David even cracked a few jokes in them!...

At around 11pm I went back to the guesthouse and felt asleep immediately...
