Throughout our trip in China everybody (but especially our tourguides) have
boasted how this and that is "famous". Apparently, everything in China is "famous".
One time we went to a street vendor and asked her about a picture. Eager to sell
the picture to rich American tourists, the vendor told us the painting was made
by a "very famous painter". "What's his name?" asked Jon. "I don't know," came
the answer...
Here Chris is holding up a statue that was in our hotel room that was labeled
"FAMOUS DESIGN".
